  • Mix before use.
  • For ensiling: Make a 20% solution (e.g. 1 liter of Silage Preservation – Ensiling CCM/MKS in 4 liters of water) and divide the amount of this solution below by the product to be ensiled.
  • CCM/MKS: 4 litres*/ton DS.
  • *Depending on silage quality and weather conditions.
  • To treat cut surfaces and top layer: Make a 10% solution (e.g. 1 liter of Silage Preservation – Ensiling CCM/MKS in 9 liters of water). Spread this solution evenly over the pit surface: 1 liter per m2 depending on the pit quality and weather conditions.
  • When used in the mixer wagon: Make a 10% solution (e.g. 1 liter of Silage Preservation – Ensiling CCM/MKS in 9 liters of water). Distribute 2 liters/ton of product to be fed into the mixer wagon.
  • Grass and corn form the basis of a good ration for the livestock farmer. In addition to the importance of soil and crop quality, the preservation of roughage is crucial. High-quality roughage is essential for efficient production. Various problems can occur during the ensiling of CCM and MKS, such as uneven dryness, air entrapment, excessive humidity and excessive temperatures. These problems can lead to loss of nutritional value and a decrease in productivity. It is therefore essential to use a good ensiling method and ensure a rapid pH drop in the silage. Diseases caused by fungi and heating also pose a major threat to silage quality.
Silage Preservation – Ensiling CCM/MKS is a liquid silage agent based on acids. The product promotes a rapid pH drop in the silage and combines these preservative properties with aromatic additives to improve the palatability of the roughage. This product is safe to use and can be specifically applied during the ensiling of CCM and MKS: on the turnip wagon or chopper, via a silage distributor or sprayer, or in the mixing wagon during ensiling. It is particularly suitable for treating both the top layer and the cutting surfaces of the silage.
  • Even distribution is essential for optimal performance.
  • Silage Preservation – Ensiling CCM/MKS is easily biodegradable.
  • Store between 5 – 30 °C.
  • The supplied animal feed complies with the conditions of GMP+BCN-NL01 Antibiotic-free animal feed.
  • Additives: Silage additives: Propionic acid (1k280) 40%, Formic acid (1k236) 17%. Preservatives: Acetic acid (E260) 2%. Binder: sodium lignosulfonate (E565) 38%. Aromatic substances: mixture of aromatic substances.

    General information

Silage: the basis of many feeding systems

Silage is a widely used form of roughage in modern livestock farming. It consists of fermented grass, maize or other crops that are stored under airtight conditions to preserve the feed for an extended period. Ensiling creates a preservation process in which oxygen is excluded and the product remains stable through natural fermentation. This process requires careful management to maintain quality and nutritional value.

    Different types of silage

In practice, a distinction is made between grass and maize silage, as well as specific products such as CCM (corn cob mix) and MKS (maize cob silage). The latter require additional attention during ensiling due to their higher energy value and susceptibility to heating and mould growth. A good result starts with the right harvesting time and the selection of appropriate additives.

    Preservation and feed hygiene

To prevent undesirable fermentation, mould growth or heating, silage is often treated with preservatives. These products help achieve stable and palatable silage that can be effectively incorporated into the ration of cattle, goats and other ruminants. It is important that these products can be applied safely and easily mixed during the ensiling process.
