Biofilm is created by bacteria adhering to pipes. They form a slimy layer that protects and multiplies pathogens. Without regular cleaning, pipes clog and water quality decreases dramatically.

It is recommended that pipes be thoroughly cleaned at least once a quarter, depending on additive use and length of the piping system. Regular water tests will provide insight into the need for cleaning.
